I was initially bothered, particularly with the rounded corners. However since the X has nearly the same size display as the plus phones, really the area that is rounded off is just extra pixels. I'm not missing out on anything by having rounded corners, or the notch, rather I am gaining the extra display area over the plus phones. That changed my attitude about it.
There used to be a good reason to copy apple, but I am still struggling to find a recent phone with basic features. Battery, headphone jack, memory card, wifi, security updates.
Decent battery life, nice screen, headphone jack, didn't break the bank and it doesn't look like it cost considerably less than half what a top tier phone does, camera isn't awesome but it's good enough and tbh I don't use it much.

[ 4.2 ms ] story [ 33.3 ms ] threadMaking a true edge-to-edge phone is impossible, and the notch IMO is the more aesthetically pleasing of the two options.
The Pixel 2 is another great example. Supposed to be edge to edge, but just looks almost-there-but-not-quite in practice.
Removable batteries... not so much.

I'd buy another if I broke it tomorrow.
Not sure how that would work with phones with a white face, but those seem less common.
