Ask HN: Google lost his mind?
Today after long time without using google (mainly using duckduckgo) I was not sure if I was getting good results from duckduckgo so I went to google, my netbook (Atom 4 cores @1.66GHZ no gpu drivers Ubuntu 14.04 that's still usable most of the time) went frozen, I'm using chromium then I closed all tabs except a blank one (computer usable again) opened the devtools and chromium-task-manager then reloaded google again to see what was going on, the computer became again almost frozen, then I took notes shown bellow, navigate away from google to hackernews (computer usable again).
It seems that google is applying this: Do what I say, don't do what I do.
Far away was a time when google was fast and light, some billions dollars later it seems they forgot it's origins.
The notes:
Chromium: Version 64.0.3282.167 (Official Build) Built on Ubuntu , running on Ubuntu 14.04 (64-bit)
