Ask HN: Can you recommend resources for learning JavaScript app architecture?

I'm tempted to ask for something like 'design patterns'—and maybe that's really all that I am looking for—but I don't really like the 'recipe' style that comes with design pattern catalogues.

Another way of putting what I'm looking for is: material on advanced javascript, but going 'high-level' rather than low-level. It seems more typical that 'advanced' guides for languages focus on corner cases and the general nitty gritty, while I'm curious about exactly the opposite: effective ideas for the overall structure of applications (or large application subsystems).
