Ask HN: Analytics UI for event data in your data warehouse

Hey everyone,

I have a question for companies that store the raw event data in a data warehouse. It's basically a market research for the new product that we have been working on in order to understand the pain points of such companies.

I think that most of the people which want to have the event data in their data warehouse have used analytics services such as Mixpanel previously. I have 2 questions for them:

1. Do you still continue using analytics solutions such as Mixpanel even though you have all this data in your data warehouse?

2. Do you think that the current BI solutions such as Mode Analytics, Looker, and Periscope are suitable for event data? Would it be useful to have a BI solution that integrates your event database and allow you to run funnel, retention and segmentation queries similar to Mixpanel but on top of your Redshift cluster?
