What about some analog kits? I've built my home stereo, (speakers), phono pre-amp and a bunch of other stuff. Lots of fun and very rewarding.

That's great. Best of luck!

16 points in 12 minutes? Weird. Never seen something like this for a Tell HN post (particularly on a slow Saturday).

BTW cool idea. Good luck!

Thanks. I guess the post just got lucky :D

Edit: I have no idea why this got locked up: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1663112

Some friends of mine actually created a new account so they could comment. I really don't think I'll opt for a negative publicity by trying to make fake accounts and _then_ promote my business.

If you do suspect I have been doing it go take a look at the IP addresses if you like. I don't know how else to prove it.

In fact I do have two accounts on HN (n9986 and 9circuits), I didn't even use that to up vote. This post was honestly viral as it got re tweeted by friends and their friends.

My aim to get some positive feedback ended up with this.

Anyhow, doesn't matter now that this has been down voted to oblivion.

No. That's because you guys are voting it up from a few newly created accounts. I am sorry, but that is not how we do stuff here.
Shouldn't the algorithm take that into account?
I think the problem is that just a few (3-4?) votes in the first few minutes can get a submission to the front page.
You should link to a bunch of tutorials. Will help people who are just starting out. Maybe give a combo offer on the items mentioned in the tutorial too :)

Congrats. Never thought someone would decide to service this very niche market in India

Thanks! It was a need driven market that I decided to step into. I am a hobbyist myself and it was a pain to acquire items.

Good idea. I will get a Wiki going soon. Thankfully the Arduino community has produced many wonderful tutorials which I could link to as well.

Congratulations! Opening a shop is a lot of effort. I have a huge amount of respect for anyone that does it.
What kind of hardware hacking culture exists in the area currently? It is my perception (which is not to say right) of New Delhi as an software outsourcing center that doesn't do much hardware.
Just curious, is there any reason why this site is in English and not in Hindi? Forgive my ignorance if the answer is obvious.
Almost everyone here into electronics (or able to use internet) can read English. Can't give exact figures but its one of the most widely used languages here.
The audience for tis website would be more comfortable in English than in Hindi. All the major publications in India are in English. English is more popular in some Indian states than even Hindi.

English in some ways brings Indians together more than Hindi. :-)

If you buy any new ARM related boards I might buy a few from time to time. E.g. beagleboard and accessories, gumstix, toradex and accessories.
