Lmao. I heard the north south split discussions as far back as the 80s in cali. But a bid to grab the best area of coast will be hard fought, and basically create a gated affluent zone. Quite contrary to the goals of most californias residents. It just highlights the intolerance of those who push it in more than a joking sense.

There's several news articles about this even some a few months old, so it's not a april fools joke. Apparently the people in the more rural areas don't feel like they are represented is another thing I heard since they tend to be more republican while the big cities are more democrat.
Seemed like the idea before that was six California's which seems like a lot to happen all at once.
