Ask HN: Does it matter where you go to college?

I attend an average state school university. The price is amazing but I feel like there is a lack of drive from the CS Professors and students. Am I making the wrong decision or does college not have much to do with success?

I have been unsure for months and I thought this would be the perfect spot to get some perspective.
