Ask HN: Are you pretending to work today?

2 points by fergie ↗ HN
In many places Tuesday the 1st of May (tomorrow) is a public holiday. If you are on holiday tomorrow, are you "working from home", "using flexitime", or otherwise finding a spurious reason to take a holiday TODAY (since it is squeezed in between a weekend snd a holiday)? Is this a widespread practice? Is it actually acknowledged where you are or is it something that people just sort of do, without actually admitting, or drawing attention to it? Is it more common to do this if you are in management?

EDIT: for the record, I am actually working (apart from messing around on HN obviously)
