Ask HN: Should laws be crafted on GitHub?

I was writing a blog post about the GDPR today, and it occurred to me that the big problem with the GDPR is BUGS, and if it had been crafted in an open-source manner where people could submit issues and pull-requests, maybe it would have been better! Is this a realistic way to write laws? Is github the future of democracy?

PS: Calm down Linus, it's just an idea ;)
