Ask HN: How do you take in information about the world?

I've found myself frustrated with the options I've tried. I'm curious to know what kinds of flows people have put together to find quality news, journalism, etc.

Ideally I'd like to:

- Minimize repetitive content (tons of articles about the same topic)

- Minimize time spent scrolling/swiping through irrelevant content

- Maximize the quality of the content I choose to engage with

Looking for suggestions for apps, aggregators, specific publishers, workflows, etc.

I know this is a tall order, but I'm sure folks on here have come up with some creative solutions that work for them :)
