I've said it before, I'll say it again: we don't need to see every single Tesla-related piece of media on HN. This is not notable, insightful, or new in any sense -- not a technical one, nor a philosophical one, nor analytical, nor any other. There's no news here, nor any new angle of thought.
Why is this here?
I encourage others to flag articles like these so we might see less of them.
Articles like this make it clear to me that Musk is right about one thing. Expecting the journalism industry to regulate the journalism industry is absolutely a non starter. One thing as technicians we should all understand is that independent standards body's are essential to consumer protection and confidence.
The first two paragraphs of this create the strong impression that it's an attack post, and the author wrote it from the perspective of writing an attack post.
There is a dialog to be had here; Elon brought up an extremely important topic, which is that the media has a credibility crisis, and planned concrete steps to address the problem. Rather than engage with that at all, media outlets seem to be treating it as an attack, and attacking back in pretty shallow ways.
