Feels like a fairly immature response to me. Not a Microsoft fan by a long shot but they have really embraced open source these last few years. Give it a chance, see what they do, there will be plenty of time to get out if we don't like what we see.
I don't like the message this is sending. Microsoft knows not to fuck up the acquisition lest they want to lose the last bits of hope the community has in them. Github is not profitable. It needs money. If it "doesn't sell out", as per the author's parlance, then there will be no more Github. Let's just watch how this plays out.
Not a fan of Microsoft either, but can't bring myself to move away from GitHub just yet.

I think my liking of GitHub is outweighing my dislike for Microsoft. So until they actually force GitHub 365 down our throats and force us to use MS accounts and link it all to Azure, I might just keep using it.

Just hoping they don't shutdown Atom.
