Ask HN: Your experience with Netgear 7000P wireless router?

Wirecutter recommends Netgear (R7000P-100NAS) Nighthawk AC2300 for most people. It has everything I want: dual-band, load-balancing band steering, beamforming, good performance (maybe not?), 802.11ac, etc., but most important, an easy setup.

However there are tons of Amazon reviews stating the router stopped working early and connection drops frequently. Now, I know reviews can be fake. What is your experience with it or do you have any recommendation for a similar easy to set up router?
