Spoti-Free? still have premium months after stopping paying for it

Ive generally always had spotify premium, but a few months ago i lost my job and as such i had to tighten my belt a little so the premium subscription got the boot, i didnt actively cancel it, my card expired and i just didnt enter the new details.

its now been nearly 3 months since i paid for premium and while i still get the red banner saying my payment failed and i need to add a new card they havent disabled any of the premium features. of course im not complaining about it, just wondering if anyone else has had the same sort of experience

On another note what the hell ever happened to Spotify HiFi? (the invite only lossless service test that ran well over a year ago now)
