Ask HN: Ressources to find Startups without VC?

Most startups you see and hear about are full of VC, which I suppose makes sense, because they have bigger marketing budgets and the angel investors have lunch with editors and publishers of important publications. I was wondering if there are any ressources out there about finding startups that have taken the VC-less route of building a business?
