Maybe use a nickname?

It's unfortunate, but yelling that name in public is likely to draw negative responses. It's as as if someone's name was phonetically similar to 'Fire!' or 'Call 911'. You just shouldn't yell it.

I don't have a name that evokes such an emotional reaction to it, but I do have a name that stands out. I identify with the doctor a bit because at first I tried to fit in as a kid, but I eventually accepted myself and my heritage and have gone back to using it and not hiding it.
I think people named Adolph still have a hard time.
Guys named Jack have had problems in airports for 50 years
Why not use a pet name? People in other cultures need to be mindful of potential triggers.
