Ask HN: News Reading Experience (recsys search) for E-Commerce?

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if there's such an experience exist for e-commerce:

1) You don't search. Or search is not the main functionality. Thus, you don't have specifics in your mind when opening that app/website

2) You want to be surprised by the app/site for what it shows to you. It doesn't have to be "useful", but it can. But most of the time, it's something nice to have, inexpensive, instead of necessity (you will buy necessities from Amazon or Walmart near you).

3) It's like reading news from apps now. Especially it's like the Chinese app Toutiao. Or Musically. You don't choose what news/music videos to consume, the recommender system choose for you.

I'm thinking this because I found there are so many things that I would buy, given I know they exist. Usually because it's fun/cheap/useful etc.

However Amazon app doesn't offer such experience. Tophat/Wish are the closest.

I'm wondering what other similar apps are out there? What do you think of this idea in general?
