Do you believe in your work?

It seems almost all programming jobs are in adtech or fintech, the two most boring but well-payed fields. To some extent we all have to spin a fictional narrative to make our jobs seem worth doing. Usually this means separating in our minds the overall purpose from the problem-solving: if the local sub-problems are interesting enough we can forget about the big picture. But when you zoom-out, do you really believe in your work ? Is actually worth it ?
