Do not do business with Tesla
I am writing as a warning. Tesla is the latest company to ignore customer needs by putting them in "department hell" or "support hell". Basically, they invest all their energy in sales. In the case of Solar Leases, these sales people are wretched and try to play on your emotions to get you to sign up for a free solar system. Do not believe anything they say!
Department hell is what happens when you have a problem with your product, in my case, the solar lease costs me more that what it saves me. I try to contact Tesla to resolve this issue and no one is able to help me. They tell me "you'll need to speak to our 'customer care department'". They do not have a direct number, and no way to leave a message. Thecustomer care department expects you to wait on hold for hours. If they can't help you, you have to wait in line for a different department.
The billing department does not handle contracts, the customer care department does not handle bills but does handle contracts. You can discuss your contract with the customer care department, but you cannot discuss a bill or payment.
No matter what, plan on spending hours on hold when something goes wrong.
