Ask HN: Kubernetes application level rollback?

Kubernetes has the ability to rollback Deployments and DaemonSets, Helm has the ability to rollback Charts, and some CD solutions like Spinnaker provide varying rollback capabilities. I realize the best practice is probably to make sure all your controllers within an application can be updated and rolled back independently, but many times that isn’t possible. How are you handling application rollback? What are some best practices, solutions, and/or products that will roll back a complete application when things go wrong?
