Ask HN: Where to live during YC Core?

My cofounder lives permanently in SF with his family.

If we participate in YC, where is a good place for me, as a solo renter, to live for 3 months?

Don’t most places require yearly contracts and background checks?

I would be coming from out of country, no income in last 12 months, no English speaking landlords, only staying for ~4 months.

What are other founders doing?

How can this be done cheaply without burning all of the YC angel capital?

What neighborhoods / areas and housing types are visiting founders doing when their cofounder already has a place with family (wife, children, etc. dont want to interfere)
