The reverse has always been true as well. My generation's slogan was that you couldn't trust anyone over 30. Millennial standard bearer Mark Zuckerberg once famously stated that only people under 30 were smart.
What we need is less trashing of generations period.
Whenever I hear people trashing entire generations, or any entire group of people, I always ask, "What has this group ever done to deserve such misrepresentation and derision?" Often, there's no substantial answer.
