Certainly we have some users who work on the Edge team here on HN. I really would like to hear justification for implimenting these kinds of tactics. Aside from the annoyance factor, the much more serious issue is the dishonest implications that Edge is "the safer, faster browser". It seems to be directly suggesting that Edge is safer and faster than Chrome and Firefox, since this comes up when users try to install these browsers. Based on what findings is this claim being made? And how do those responsible for this justify adding this FUD?
It's Microsoft. They been doing this sort of thing for at least 25 years. They haven't changed, even if they've fooled some people. It's part of their DNA.
