Yeah, BS PC knee-jerking.

Blacklist doesn't have anything to do with people of dark skin or political correctness.

The english origin of the term goes back centuries and has nothing to do with blacks:

And the same term exists in other languages as well (who, again, had nothing to do with blacks, racism, or slavery).

But someone heard the word may feel offensive.
There's no indication that this change was made because the term 'blacklist' was thought to be offensive. The commit message just says "use clearer wording".

I don't personally find that the change adds any clarity, but programmers love to bikeshed this sort of thing.
