I fully support morally all contributors who would want to rescind. I don't have any format contribution inside the Linux kernel, but if I had, I would rescind on principle, for having a CoC.

Any project that needs to have a CoC to enforce civil behavior (and strong language is not out of civil behavior IMO) isn't worth contributing with.

There are already too many laws in civilized countries, we don't need to add such layers.

Good riddance to those who go away.
Then we can feel smug while quietly capitalizing on their volunteer contributions.

False dichotomy much? I guess you're free to create your own asshole-driven fork of Linux to save us all.

I suspect the bulk of any "insecurity" lies with those who so vehemently oppose codifying "be a decent human being".

The GPL doesn't work like that. You can't withdraw the license from code you've already shared.
