Ask HN: Need advice for shifting base for taking care of Mom with mental issues

I work in Bay Area as a developer. Few days back my mom in India had a severe attack of what seems to be schizophrenia (still working with doctors). I want some advice on how do I be with her more. I am discussing options such as mental institutions, me moving to India with a local job, or work remotely, or just take a break and be around. Currently, I took few weeks leave to be around her. I have never had exposure to being with mentally ill people :(
