Which Text Editors Do Great Hackers/Programmers Use?

3 points by paedubucher ↗ HN
I heard that Linus Torvalds is using a customized version of MicroEmacs. Richard Stallman is probably using Emacs. Bram Moolenaar must likely uses vim. Rob Pike used acme (https://usesthis.com/interviews/rob.pike/).

Are there any reliable studies on that topic? Maybe a survey of Linux kernel hackers? Or maybe interviews with notable hackers/programmers?

I like Text Wrangler, Notepad++ and Visual Studio for text edits.
Thanks for the down vote!
That wasn't me, by the way.
LOL!
Could you please stop posting unsubstantive comments to Hacker News?

Also, if you'd read https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html and follow the rules when posting here, we'd appreciate it. One thing they ask you to do is not post comments about getting downvoted.

Wordstar clone.

(Frightening, isn't it? That's what happens when key-sequences get imprinted.)
