Ask HN: How to conduct a code lab?

I am preparing for taking a code lab for about 25 engineers where they have to follow along what I do. While I show the steps I am doing on the projector I am not sure if I should create a slide and embed code in that or just create the whole tutorial in form of a markdown and share at the begining of the session.
