Ask HN: Extremely negative and positve blogs about career in software

Not looking for in-between, level-headed, rational writing. I'm looking for two extremes.

Somebody with poison coming out of their mouth as they expose all the negative sides of career in software engineering. So that after you read them you want to quit the industry entirely because there is no hope.

On the other hand I'm looking for writings that make you feel genuinely good about being a programmer. Something that inspires and gives a solid understanding that if you do this, this and that, you're going to win.

I rarely read people of the second kind. Difficult to find. I noticed that career topic is inherently negative. The only people that made me feel good are commenters here on HN, patio11 and tptacek with their consultancy advice.
