I would not take this in good faith. Merely a well timed pr piece, to tell the world that "we are doing something" when all evidence, on every other day of the year, points to the fact that FB enables Fringe, racist, conspiracist voices, as well as outright manipulation funded by Russia and others.

The whole facebook algorithm seems to be just principal component analysis for attention/engagement. In reality this is just creating echo chambers, tribes, and enabling groups to form around extremist ideals that are formed by algorithms.

I wish more people would call them out on this bullshit that divides and is enabled because politics demand society be engaged.
