Identity Protection with Consent in Digital KYC
It is legally required for service providers to ask for users’ consent before they provide services to them. This backs up the notion that the real choice and control of data lies with the end-user. Along with this, it ups the client-provider trust, enhancing the legitimacy and authenticity of the service provider in the process.
GDPR sets a high bar for getting users’ consent prior to providing them a service. It entails making the consent process as transparent, simple and clear, as possible so there remain no doubts that the customer is allowing the service provider to use and process their personal information and PII data for the purposes of enabling the business services for the customer.
What is consent?
Consent doesn’t just entail asking the user for their permission to use their data for service provision. Keeping a record of consent (for future uses), and making sure that consent status remains up to date.
How to ask for it?
Asking for user’s consent before providing them with a service is a legally acceptable method of data processing with user’s permission. This consent is not asked for before making it amply clear as to what reason the consent is being taken for. The clients are properly informed about their right to withdraw or reject their consent. Lastly, it is ensured that the consent is never necessary for the provision of a service.
How to record it?
GDPR required the companies and businesses to maintain a record of the time and method of consent acquisition from the client, ensuring complete transparency.
How to manage it?
Consent management entails keeping a track of the consents already taken from the users. They need to be reviewed on a regular basis in order to ensure that the consent status remains the same.

Here's an interesting article I came across that talks about consent acquisition using biometrics.<https://shuftipro.com/blogs/biometric-consent-authentication/>
