REMOTE HIRING: The New Thing

1 points by ediosync ↗ HN
With the establishment of businesses online, the stream of qualification and hiring requirements have shifted focus from manual labor to a more research intensive and technology-driven nature.

Now, when it comes to hiring employees, many companies prefer the remote hiring process. This involves electronic transfer of relevant educational and other documentation, followed by Skype or telephonic interviews and then, notification of final selection.

In a number of cases, the employees are required to work from home, dedicating a set few hours of their time to the job.

Time tracking softwares are used, generally, to keep a track of employees’ task completion and productivity analysis.

A number of businesses even allow their workers to work on their own time; meaning, flexible hours. They are required to dedicate a fixed number of hours to the job each day, regardless of when and how they do that. This largely depends on the nature of the job as well.

If the work doesn’t require much teamwork, and the employee is able to work independently without any need for consultation with the rest of the team, then they are always free to work on their own time.

It is like freelancing in most ways, but not really the same.
