5 things you need to look out for in Remote Hiring

Things are not always rosy with the remote hiring processes.

1. Remote Locations

Since the prospective employees are dispersed in different parts of the world, the employers may never know their true identity.

2. Forged Documents

They may appear to be authentic on a phone call, but in reality, they may be presenting counterfeit documents or a fake identity. Along with fake papers, they may be imposters, stealing someone else’s identity to get paid and dupe the company in the process.

3. Security Breaches

Fake workers may be a cause of the security breach in the company. Once in the system, it is a piece of cake for the professional scammers to access the company’s sensitive information and use it against them. They may even gain access to the financial accounts and get away with laundering money worth billions of dollars.

4. Financial and Reputational Losses

Companies have had to suffer financial and reputational losses once the workers get away with scamming them with stolen identity information, money laundering via company’s accounts, and failure to deliver quality work (or any at all) while asking for payment in advance.

5. Weird Payment Methods

Furthermore, they may ask for unconventional (e.g. no trails) payment methods like cash. Once payment is made on their terms, they may get away with the company’s money, without leaving any trail behind.
