Ask HN: What books would you recommend for best Frontend development practices?

I am currently designing an app and I'd like to design it properly, before building it. What type of frameworks should I use, how can I make it work on mobile, what isn't needed or will bloat the app too much for use of one feature and what questions should I be asking while building it?

I know you have to make it compatible for every browser, on the tablet and phone if possible.

You have your choice of CSS framesworks, Javascript frameworks and plain HTML5. Vue.JS, typescript, React, etc. You have to take into account loading speeds and if people have Javascript/HTML5 canvas disabled.

I'd like to know if anyone can point me to a good book with design principles and real world production experience. I don't want get tied into a framework without knowing why I choose it. I know sometimes you just need to build it and figure it out as you go.
