Ask HN: Career-wise, is it worth learning Kubernetes?

I keep hearing how Kubernetes is the future, and that familiarizing yourself with it will make you a hot commodity in today's market, as well as the future.

Yet I don't see any jobs that require Kubernetes expertise, at least not in my area (Washington DC).

Am I missing something here?
