Totally. Being in the "dating machine" can be energetically draining so I figured making my own machine would at least be a fun art project. It's far exceeded my expectations lol.
And yea, the Reddit advertising platform today is about like the Facebook advertising platform of 2014. It's janky. For example, I'm only targeting people in Los Angeles and have unchecked the "allow Reddit to expand my audience" but people are dropping in the comments saying they're seeing it in Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Arizona, and even on the east coast.
Re: non-linear — that's more in regards to teaching Reddit. You can lock the comments of an ad and call it a day, but IMO the true value of the platform is the opportunity advertisers have to engage the community directly.
I've gotten 8 date (offers) so far, but what's been more interesting are the referrals. There are 2-3 women that are intent on introducing me to my future wife and have been cycling me through their single friends via PM.

You mentioned that reddit advertising is very non-linear. Could you elaborate? It seems like the targeting options at this point are extremely crude.
