Ask HN: AWS Reverse DNS Records

I have an unused elastic ip address I'm being charged for but can't release due to "reverse dns records" but I can't find anything in the aws console about managing reverse dns records. Has anyone encountered this issue before? I've contacted support but no help thus far.
