Ask HN: Security job outlook for PhD chemist

I'm currently a chemistry postdoc (PhD from a large state school) and just passed the OSCP certification exam. Lots of experience writing bash and python scripts, but not too much beyond that. No prior employment outside of chemistry jobs...

I'm about to start applying to junior-level security analyst / security engineer jobs on the east coast.

What are my odds of getting any offers? What could I do to increase my odds?
