It’s pretty much par for the course modern continuation of Soviet propaganda and the erasure of friends-cum-enemies or history of the system.

The current system relies on a continuum of power from the Tsar(inas) thru Soviet times into the present.

What does such claim mean practically? IMO their current system relies on the firepower of their police and military and I would say that has little to do with the Romanovs.
