ok so what - I read a 300 page book on the meaning of food to women in early Christianity.. it was deep, and moving. The impacts of Christianity in Europe are beyond simple anecdotes. I am seriously tired of religion haters cherry-picking examples while huge societal shifts hide in plain site. e.g. literacy

Sometimes a funny little anecdote can be just that, and not an attempt to demolish one's spiritual centre.
This is a factual account of a single woman changing her mind about holy orders, approximately 700 years ago. I can't imagine why you'd read it as an attack on religion.

I mean, I'm Christian and I'm saying this. If your idea of religious tolerance is that no one should ever repeat anything negative associated with any church, you maybe need to give that some serious thought.
