An email from Coinbase made us build this

We were a couple of friends casually trading cryptocurrency while learning about it in 2017. Beginning fo 2018, we got an email from Coinbase regarding 1099K - contents of which everyone on the HN/Reddit were trying to figure out.

Reached out to a CPA we've met at a cryptocurrency meetup and discussed the scenario with him. Quickly sat down together and tried existing software to get some help - but in vain.

This situation has made us write our own software www.bear.tax - With the help of our CPA friend, finally got it to production before April 2018 and filed our taxes successfully.

Since then, we've enhanced our product to integrate with more than 30 exchanges, wallets, generic imports and many more. Served traders in Australia, Canada, USA. We've gifted the CPA suite to our friend and the platform is now helping more than 10 accounting firms in calculating tax liability for their clients.

That's a long way we've come. Working continuously to provide value, enhance the customer experience while keeping the prices affordable even in the bear market.
