I'm curious why the above comment was flagged. It's a fair point. Companies like IBM are legally obligated to ignore race when hiring. The only reason to track the race of applicants is to make sure hiring is diverse, i.e. make sure quotas are being met.
You might think that's a good thing or not, but it isn't untrue or irrelevant.
