Ask HN: Floor Plan Mapping Software

I’m not looking for something that can map via my phone or use my TrueDepth (or whatever it’s called) camera to scan a room. I just want to create a boring 2D (maybe 3D) floor plan of my house and wanted to see what suggestions you all had.

I don’t care about price <$20 and I’d like the final output to be as flexible/portable as possible so I can make updates to it or re-use it later. So open source is perfect if it uses an open format but I’m not worried about paying some money to do this right.

My initial reason for wanting a floor plan is for planning where to put furniture (new house) but I would also like to do stuff like document various smart/IoT devices, WiFi AP’s, etc.
