Ask HN: Why people do same thing for free?

I was working at a company where I was making $200 an hour maintaining their infrastructure on Google Cloud.

So this company now got a new guy who seems to do same stuff for nearly free. He doesn't have family like me so I guess he is able to charge very low for his service and on top he's young too but his lack of experience doesn't let him achieve the tasks company requires.

Next month company, will let me go as my manager told me. Company didn't ambush me or something but I am just sad, that I've been making that money for quite long and now just because someone is willing to do it for less because they find it interesting, how to deal with it?
