Ask HN: Consultants and freelancers, may I interview about how you got started?

I saw a post earlier today on HN in which the poster asks for resources on how to be a consultant. [1] . I've been toying with the idea of becoming a con-free-lan-sultant myself. Personally, I learn better through conversation than reading.

Would anyone on HN be interested & willing to speak with me about how they got started as a consultant. freelancer, someone?

Here's what I'm thinking:

- We have an informal conversation about what you do, what your business model is, etc.

- From the notes, I write up a blog post about what I heard you say, work with you to make it as accurate as possible, and then give you final approval over the content before posting it to my blog, with permission for you to use the content for your own purposes, too

- the point is to tell a story about how one person, you, got started, what advantages & disadvantages you had, how you got lucky, how you had to work your ass off at times, etc.
