Poll: An iPad application to better present HN?

8 points by sfphotoarts ↗ HN
The website isn't easy to navigate using an iPad, the comments link is too small as as the voting arrows. I am considering building (assuming the data is freely available for such an endeavor) either a different presentation as a web app or as an iPad application.

Would definitely throw down a few dollars say Free - 4.99 for a well built and elegant way to nav through HN
I use ihackernews.com
Simple, cleanly designed, and cuts through all kinds of annoying paywalls. And it works from anything with a browser; not just iDevices. Couldn't get any better.
Check out AlienBlue on iPhone & iPad for inspiration... they did a fantastic job of cramming Reddit into an iOS app.
I don't know what the situation is with it or if they want it publicized yet (I'll check though) but I'm aware a couple of prominent HN users have spent the last few months building an iPad app like this.. That said, if you still want to do it, the more the merrier IMHO.
Make it a generic feed based app and you can probably sell it to medium size blogs as a dev service.
I think there is a iPad app already....
There are a few, but I haven't seen one that has a decent interface for voting and commenting. Granted, this isn't that big a deal on the iPad as it is on the iPhone, but it would still be nice to have a nice HN app.
I am not even sure there needs to be a website. I consume this website, like all others, through Google reader. The only time I see this site is when I read comments, and comment reading works well.
I voted for iPad app, but I currently use the Hacker News 20 twitter feed (@newsyc20) plus Flipboard. It gives easy access to either the main article or the comments page. My only gripe is that Flipboard forgets my credentials fairly often.
I built a popular Hacker News iPhone (and soon to be iPad) app. It lets you browse stories, explore comments and threads, and open links with an in-app browser (with built-in Readability). You can even log-in and vote up/down and post your own comments. The last update also added support for sharing via Twitter, Instapaper, Facebook, etc.

Currently I'm working on the next update, which will add full iPad support. If anyone has suggestions for what to add, feel free to email me.
