Ask HN: Know of any Autonomous Businesses?

Kunaki.com is an almost 100% fully automatic cd/dvd printing service, with basically no customer service, and I imagine almost no humans involved in operations beyond maintainence and shipping.

Im curious if any other such businesses are known? This kind of precursor to pure smart-contract businesses.

My first company was entirely automated. It did media monitoring, it ran on about 80 servers. It scraped 15,000 data points a second, stored this data and then ran batch reports. It took me about 6 months to write, and then once stable, it took only about 1 hour a week to review the automatic patches, and occasionally glance at the grafana dashboard to make sure data was flowing.

It generated reports and then I sold them to a larger media company, as well as some monthly data dumps for their data scientists to analyse.

It made about 200,000 usd a year, I sold it to that media company after about 2 years of operation.
