Ask HN: Why Isn't There an AOT TypeScript to Native Compiler?

Always thought Microsoft would deliver something here but despite the adoption rate of TypeScript, we're stuck with Node.

Is there any particular reason for this? Seems like TypeScript has enough type information to generate fairly tight native code.
