This is likely an April Fool's joke that they pushed early to beat the other April Fool's jokes.

Which sorta defeats the point.

you think? i feel like the unofficial rules of April Fools jokes is that they have to be on the exact day. Also, if the problem (height liars) is as bad as the article suggests (pretty bad!) I can see why they'd need to address it. And lastly, doesn't seem too complicated technically to pull off..
From the blog post: "Here’s how it works: Simply input your true, accurate height with a screenshot of you standing next to any commercial building. We’ll do some state-of-the-art verifying and you’ll receive your badge directly on your profile."

+1 for April Fool's

Indeed, someone probably triggered a production deploy too early.
If it was an April 1 gag, they'd have included weight verification...
They should have done weight verification.
Nice. And now they should put also a weight verification. No kidding at all.
It’s likely April fools, but Tinder being what it is, I wouldn’t be surprised.
Hoping it's a premature April fool, but given the state of world we're living in, it'd hardly surprise me if this was real.

Next up: Length and girth verification?
