I feel like the course title is somewhat tongue in cheek, the offering looks perfectly reasonable for a humanities course. It’s not like someone is going to devote an entire department to angry white male studies...

Why would any "<pejorative> <disenfranchised_class> studies" title be acceptable? I wouldn't take issue with "Modern Anglo Studies" or even the gendered "Experience and Perspective of the Modern American Male." But that's not what this course is titled.
But it's not just the name. The content of the course (I did read the description!) implies that the grievances of "angry white males" are extrinsic, an objection to equality of others rather than their own unequal treatment. It implicitly de-legitimizes the position of the "angry white male."

Those clearly don’t have the same connotation. Male studies is a real thing, and this may be a component of it, but I think there is a real, particular phenomenon here that is distinct, and probably has a variety of causes and concerns which the course covers. We’re talking along the intersection of tiki carrying white nationalists, school shooters, abusive power holders of many sorts, etc.
